Miriam Aziz is a European multi-media artist based in Milan, Italy. She began her artistic career as a musician and then later combined dance and film. She has released five studio albums and has performed in venues across Europe and the United States. Her photography / filmmaking portfolio includes dance, portrait work, commercial as well as commissioned work. Drawing from her experience as a dancer, she also explores the role of movement in performance e.g. Anne Namba Fashion Show at the Baryshnikov Arts Center (NYC) and art installations e.g. Lost for Words (2013), Ich sehe nicht die Stunde (2014) as well as for overall health, as part of her training in the GYROTONIC^® method.

A former lawyer, she has also combined her artistic work with her legal training. Between 2009 /12, she established Artist (s) at Large®, a performance art research lab whilst a visiting scholar at New York University Law School, Columbia Law School and Cardozo Law School. She was also a senior research fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law (MPIL/HD) between 2013-15 where she contributed to its audio/visual archives. Her law and art research has been published in international peer reviewed law journals e.g. Law and Humanities and the Yale Journal of Law and Humanities.

She is the founding creative director of MAstudioLAB, an informal mixed media platform based in Milan, Italy, which enabled her to collaborate with interdisciplinary artists for projects (personal as well as works for hire). The LAB has been supported by arts funding, peer reviewed scientific literature and notable members of the arts and science communities.
